Pick-up and drop-off
Every camper is collected from its owner. Most are 20–40 minutes from an international airport, and many owners offer airport pick-up for a fee.
Driving on the right
Norway, Sweden and Denmark all drive on the right-hand side of the road, like the rest of Europe. Dipped headlights are mandatory day and night.
Driving licence
An EU/EEA category B licence covers motorhomes up to 3,500 kg. Heavier vehicles need C1. Licences from outside the EEA should be paired with an international permit.
Tolls and ferries
Tolls and ferries are charged automatically through the vehicle tag and invoiced afterwards. Budget roughly EUR 30–70 per week.
Camping and right to roam
Norway and Sweden allow wild camping at least 150 metres from housing for up to two nights. Denmark requires official campsites.
Season and weather
June to August brings midnight sun in the north and mild weather in the south. May and September are cheaper and quieter. Winter trips need a winterised camper.
